Preventive Control

Management and cultural practices

  1. After a heavy infestation, refrain from planting sweet potato for at least 2 cropping seasons. Always keep your area free of Ipomea weeds to eliminate all the possible food sources of the pests.
  2. Properly select your planting material. Never use slips that are taken from infested vines.
  3. Ask for assistance from your agriculturist to give you recommendations on the variety, and other local cultural practices.
